to start off with i will say that this is one of the best pow wows that i have been to in the Va area in a long time. also, would like to say that this is the best one of the Chickahominy pow wows that i have ever been to. the dancers alone seemed to come out of the wood work. there were alot of awesome dancers and really great looking dance clothes.
Marvin Burnette did a really great job as the Mc, as he always does. told alot of jokes and told the history of the dance styles. he's a great.
Keith Anderson and Jessica Canaday did a wonderful job as the lead dancers. i don't think that i ever saw them not dancing or if they weren't dancing they were talking to someone (specator or dancer alike) making them feel welcome at the dance.
Jay Hill, well what can i say, as usual he kept the dancers going and at the same time danced to his hearts content. even had alot of jokes about him cause of his neon shoes and hats.
there were 6 drums there on Sat and 5 on Sun, and i'm not even going to try and name them all cause i'll mess up someone's name prolly. but they all did a really good job.
also, wanted to say that the honor guard did a really good job. and to the member of the guard that is headed back to the war zone i want to say god speed and best wishes. please return saftely back to your friends and family.
i want to thank the pow wow committe for the wonderful pow wow that they put on and say that they deserved the turn out of dancers and specators alike, thank you for a wonderful pow wow and hopefully you can have many more just like this years. and keep up the atmosphere of everyone being welcome and being family, cause i heard alot of good comment about it this year.
it was great to see those of ya'll that i knew that and those of ya'll that i just meet this past weekend.

I'd like to second that! I was up there this year for the first time and I thought it was a really good time! Hard to find, but a good time. I felt very welcomed and at home. Thanks to everyone who made me feel that way!

Hey guys - I heard nothing but good from the pow-wow - I called Troy and told him that I had to work so I missed a good good pow-wow.

I heard that there were life 5 drums there.

I heard that the crowd was overflowing on Saturday, and it was one of the biggest crowds ever.

I heard that everyone was feeling great.

I heard from the photographer that it was very successful - and he was pleased and anxious to work with more folks on his book.

I missed you all - but had to work the Juvenile concert at work. Love ya - and we'll def see ya in Richmond.

Thumbs up

I am sad that it is over. We wait so long for this one, and it ends so quick. The Chickahominy are very gracious hosts. The food was great, the music and dancers were great. And there were people there from everywhere! I wish they had two or three more a year. I really enjoy the way the Chickahominy people carry on their old traditions, from the eldest to the youngest, they continue to wear the same traditional outfits. What more could you ask for!! Others could learn much from this tribe!!

Thanks to everyone for coming. By far, this was one of our best p/w's ever. So many people came from all over. I got to see a lot of my friends from NC. I always have fun when Jeff Anstead is around. He keeps me laughing. Jeff, if you are reading this, remember we can go WWE style anytime.

Kaye, y'all be ready for Hollister, because, a bunch of us are talking about riding our bikes down there. Y'all might have a bunch of Chickahominy boys making a grand entrance.
