Freestyle Two-Step - Rabbit Dance

This past weekend I entered a freestyle two-step contest that was a lot of fun, and it got me to thinking. I've rabbit danced for years, and have entered a few freestyle two-step contests in the past few years and I enjoy these a LOT better than the regular two-steps. I like being able to do my own thing rather than getting in line. I've talked to a lot of people who enjoy the freestyle better...maybe Indians are just tired of getting in lines?

lol yea I see what your saying. Freestyle is always more fun. But what about that song from John Oxendine? That was killer, that guy can make some handrum songs. You were a fancy dancer I gather, were you the guy with the glasses?

Killer song. I liked all of them, but yeah, that one was cool.

Yeah glasses. :) You guys shook us up so bad on that first fancy contest song I'm surprised my glasses didn't fall off LOL

i agree cause then you get in line behind those folks who just dunno how to follow the leader and throw everyone else off... haha...
but i absolutely LUBB to push dance though... it's the crow style of a two step... similar to like a country western two step...
it just looks awesome when you have a buncha folks out there push dancing... not to mention it's so much fun!

For real!!!

I like freestyle cuz you can pull out some cool moves if you want. And if you screw up, it's your fault, not the couple in front of you! LOL

BTW, I like your signature girl!

It's no surprise a Crow would want to do her own thing

Is push dancing similar to rabbit dancing?

The thing I don't like about regular two-step is if you get a couple up front leading who isn't real inventive and they do the same ol, same ol. A little variety never killed anyone.

you must know us all too well - of course us crows always gotta be different from the rest - anything to stand out!

push dancing & rabbit dancing are kinda sorta similar... the couples face & embrace each other, sorta like slow dancing - rather than dancing side by side when doing the rabbit dance

I just like the name....push dancing....bah hahahahahaha.. Ah - the images.....

But ... getting back to thread - I do like freestyle better too - cuz following the leader is like a bad locomotion - one false move and..... ... sorta like going to a bad pow-wow and watching all the woman's tradish following the one real Indian - watch out - pile-up!!!!

It's all good....
