Yes that family does well there but this tribe is small and that's probably the reason for this. Maybe the tribe should consider getting another committee. Ron Froman, Lenny Skye, Leanne Reeves, Charla Echohawk, Kinder family, Mary Kihega, and others are also knowledgeable Peoria people in this day and age. Most of the elders just sit back.

Yeah.. I know whatcha guys mean- I contested there sat. nite, but didn't even bother to go back sun. Too hot to dance, and I know how things are ran this ways. See at just about every dance we've hit out here. Alot of the people who do win are our freinds, and I'm happy for them, but I have also seen some downright injustice towards some of the other contestants. We just moved from ponca city a little over a year ago. The dances out this way don't even compare to the ones back home. Don't plan on goin back either..

Ok too the ones that are talking aobut the girl that is related to the committee and that the head man is dating, that's me! I don't appriecate you or anyone else talking about me or my family. Alot of the folks that placed there are good dancers. And the one that's AD sometimes and got 3rd in tradish, his name is Dude Blalock, My dad!! I sorry that you felt you had a bad exprience at that powwow. But they are trying and its not your powwow. If you don't like the way things were being ran then start your own powwow. And that's ok if you don't come back, we don't need you. And get to know us before you starting judging us.

sorry man but the mc's were brother and cousin of the traditional dancer that placed does that sound fair in the old days the family that helped with powwow or put it on did not contest but was to busy judgeing doing 50/50 pots and so on. If you don't want people to talk about your family than don't look so guilty with unfair judgeing. People should remember pow-wow ethics when prize monies was not as big as its today. Head people and family who wnt to support them all helped pw commit they didnot contest because of this very reason. I was told all this plus brought up in old rules of pw ethics which is very strict and hard when there is big prize money at stake.

To NativeHoney. Calm down! You shouldn't say things like" if you don't like the way things are run, then start your own powwow" I thought this was a Peoria tribal pow wow. WHAT GOES ON at the pow wow REFLECTS BACK ON THE PEORIA TRIBE not your family. Remember also what you SAY reflects back on your family. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions so there is no reason for comments like these. It only makes matters worse. Whatever happens, be kind to people and say good things. Sorry your feelings are hurt and I'll remember you in my morning prayers.

native honey i know your family well enough to know they are very good dancers and they know ther stuff. but to others it did not look good when your dad got thrid place when your uncles were the Mc's helper. Always remember Pow-Wow ethics and no one will have any gripes with you. People need to remember and so do my i in the Pow-Wow world some of us have a very extended family and it is hard to know when to bow out or contest. Do not know who all the winners were but what i sall there was nobody but blalocks, tyners, ulerys, quapaws, etc. can go on for every which is nothing but one huge extended family everybody out there were related or interrelated in someway. Yes Native Honey and Mourning water I'm a pot calling the kettle black. Just want to remind old families the of old ethics because we have gotten away from it.

Well it was like they were trying to talk about my family and not the powwow. If it had just been that I wouldn't have felt the need to say anything. I guess i am just protective of my family but who isn't? Well I apologize for saying the hurtful things that i said. It was uncalled for. Even if you do or don't do something at a powwow there is still going to be someone that feels something is wrong with it. You will be in my prayers also.

sorry for any hurtful things i said. I pray in the morning when the morning people are out as i've been taught for all my enemies, friends, creatures large and small. I know that sometimes i shoot my mouth off without thinking what i'm saying. I think that its the smart mouth quapaw blood in me. All in all Native Honey your family did a wonderful job helping the Peoria Tribe of Oklahoma put on there Pow-Wow.

Why can't people just go to a pow-wow and enjoy themselves? Always gotta downgrade it and say its not fair, so and so always wins there.. Blah, blah f'n blah, blah, man!!! Biggest bunch of crybabies I've ever heard!!! To the others that did have a good time, I'm glad you did!

TwoRed Shoes you and Little sister are right 1. we all should go just to enjoy are selves and Peoria Tribe is so small if it was not for NativeHoney's family there would of been no one to now how to put on a pw for them. Much less no one to teach their children how to shake shells at a stompdance. That is why some people can be very opinonated towards them but most of them are not Peoria.
