Sorry people, some of the info I gave is wrong, here is what is what to expect this year

The Wacipi this year should be a good one!!
June 30-July 3 MCS JERRY DEARLY/VINCE BEYL
Host Drums Ridge Runners and Wahpe Kute
Invited Drums Only Include: Blackstone,Northern Wind,
Bad Nation,Elk Whistle,Dakota Hotaine,Eyabay,Midnite Express,
Dry Lake,Maze Kute,Sweetgrass,White Tail, and Youngbird.

Moccasin Tournament 1
$1500 trophy and jacket 1st
$1200 trophy 2nd
$900 trophy 3rd
$600 trophy 4th

Moccasin Tournament 2
1st 800 trophy and jacket
2nd 600 and trophy
3rd 400 and trophy
4th 200 and trophy

Adult Catagories
SPECIALS

GoldenAge Women(65 & over)
Hand Drum
Teen Fancy Shawl
Mens Grass Dance(all)
Jr Girls Fance Shawl
Mens Grass (55 & over)
Mens Grass (18-54)
Jr Boys Dance Special

Soft Ball Tournament
9TH Annual SWO Bull Riding & Youth Rodeo
Youth Basketball Tournament
Teen Dances(fri) (sat) 9pm-1am

All catagories and specials have very good payouts so come on over and dance with us

Go staight to Omaha
Then straight to Sioux Falls
Then its just about 1 and a half hours to SISSETON!!

THE WACIPI STARTS TONITE AND SOUNDS LIKE ALL THE DRUMS ARE COMIN IN EARLY. THEY ALL GOT ROOMS AT THE DAKOTA MAGIC CASINO.

they had a new arena this year.

how'd you like it?

I thought the dancers were good this year

I really injoyed the pow wow this year. Drums were CHO, and the Dancers were great! They seemed to rush the jrs and teen dancers, people have to remember these are the up and comin dancers and they need to be judged also. The jr and teen dancers got to dance only 2 judged contest songs. ALL WEEKEND!!
So hope they can fix that next year.
And the "NEW" arena, its a big pole barn or something??
They really need to build a new brick and block ARENA
The one they had this year was just a last minute decison.
IF YOU ASK ME THAT WAS A VERY POOR AND LATE DECISON

IT WAS'NT ALL THAT BAD OF A YEAR THINGS WILL DEFINATLY BE BETTER NEXT YEAR.
