I think there is only 2 a year in this area. :( I am hoping that colorado is different. I havent been to a powwow well almost a year. I went to one here last september but it wasnt like the ones I used to go to in Georgia:) so my question to everybody is do you know about any powwows that go on yearly in colorado? thanx for the info in advance |

Welcome to Colorado!
Hi,
There is not a whole lot going on in the Colorado Springs area. The Lone Feather council is starting to get more active and they are based in the Springs. They have a couple of Powwows on their calendar and some exhibition types events as well. http://www.lonefeathercouncil.homestead.com There are a couple down in Pueblo (about 45 min south of the Springs) every year, but I always seem to hear about them after the fact. Denver (about an hour North) and it's surrounding areas is where the most activity seems to be. Lots are sponsered through the Denver Indian Center so their website is probably a good one. Also Susie Aikman's radio show's website has a pretty good calendar of events. http://www.alternativevoices.org/ Hope that's some help. If you have any questions about the area just ask. I've lived in or around Colorado Springs my whole life. Sarah |
