Cherokee Youth Center Pow Wow ending
We would like to announce that there will not be a Cherokee Youth Center pow wow in Cherokee, North Carolina this year. After four great years, it is with sadness that we must end this event. We would like to thank all of the drum groups who came to sing for us, the dancers who came to enjoy the wonderful singing, the spectators who came to have a good time at an old-fashioned community pow wow, and our wonderful sponsors who made it all possible.
It pleasured us greatly to hear the comments about our dance and how much fun was had there. We tried our best each time to foster a welcome environment full of hospitality. We were also happy to be able to put on the pow wow without charging anyone anything – no gate fees and everyone in attendance was fed. Maybe in the future, we can get another community pow wow going in this area. Until then, thanks for everyone’s help and participation.

 no way, that really bites. this was a really good pow wow and one of the best feeling ones on the east that i have been to. i made to half of them and always enjoyed myself. sorry to hear that it won't be happening again. i'm going to really miss this one

Scott,
I am so sorry to hear that the Youth Center Powwow is not going to be held this year. Paul and I had such a great time there last fall. Please let us know if the plans change or if, like you said, another community powwow is planned! Kelli |
