Occaneechi –Saponi Spring Pow-Wow
Traditional music, dance, arts, crafts, and food. Free parking on site. Everyone is welcomed. June 10-11; Grounds open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Eno River in Historic Hillsborough Call: (919) 304-3723 Phyllis Campbell is to be head dancer... Anyone have any more info???

In years past, they have always had a "pow wow" sign out on I-40......just look for the pow wow sign! Once you exit, turn right at the end of the ramp and follow the road all the way to down town. The grounds are right next to the Court House & the Eno River.

Yeah it was humid - but I had a ball...got to hook up with my girls....Jackie, Takin' Numbers and Bullrider, along with my cousin Alecia was there - we all chilled together....it was awesome...great hearing Edisto River again....and of course, Eastern Bull was there - they sang alot...had a girl that wailed....son. Great seeing Tab and her mom - and Tess - glad you are moving closer to the fam...that sounds like a win/win situation. Was good seeing and hearing Lawrence tell his stories again....some people just have a talent for storytelling. He is one of them. Jason and Kristy - always a pleasure - Karen - girl - you are a trip. Hey Rainbow - girl you were looking awesome too - always great seeing you and your spirit - you totally rock - but you know that, huh? The crowd was really large and the pow-wow was situated right in the middle of town - so it really attracts people from all walks. The vendors, I thought, were all very good...had great conversations with most of them, of course laughed the most with Norma and Carl Anthony...crazy - great seeing Miss Sonya again, as always, and Bill and Susie. There was a potporri of dancers - some I had never seen before....but they were getting off, son.
It was good...enjoyed myself.
