Atsaa Butte powwow....June 25th, 2005
Ahhh great, I started this thread and I lost my flyer but anyways....
Host Northern- Rocky Park.......kicking it LA style (Leupp, AZ) Host Southern- Southern Wildhorse....out of Ft defiance/WR area.....I think...*L*.... But this is happening out in Whiterock, N.M. and from what I remember it's a contest powwow and they got special contests are something like that....anyway, when I find my flyer I'll let you all know.......

Hey, we're running this powwow and hope it doesn't get too windy this year, but from all the rain we're getting the ground should be nice and damp now. everyone come out, we have two great drums hosting our powwow. Our powwow is about roughing it old style. Step away from the white mans world for a day. later. ABdrum...

So this is an outdoor celebration? I just seen the flyer in Waterflow yesterday. Looks goot. I wonder if the pw committee would spend a lil extra to spray the grounds with dust suppressant, well outside the arena, that crap is noticeable on the mocs.
Sure sounds like a powwow that'll grow annually tho.

I'll make reservations ahead of time for the "Behind the Hill Inn". I hope food prices aren't that high.......uuhhhh and how bout' security? Any sacurrty? I need my camper looked after. There better be enuff parking..............and oh, is Miss Navajo going to be there??? cuz,cuz, I wanted some autographed Navajo Barbie dolls for my kaa'lection. LOL!!!

We have an arbor. We'll be headed back up on Memorial day weekend to tighting it up.
For those who need basha's, it's located in Crownpoint, N.M. and security? well, after what we experienced, I think the powwow people themselves are the best security we have. Watching out for each other respectfully and not treating the powwow like a night club with bouncers. I know you all will have fun at our 2nd annual. |
