Ummm I dunno what you mean by SA (student assoc?) but its being put on by the Harvard Univ. Native American Program and cosponsored by Native Americans at Harvard College (NAHC), the undergrad club. Yes there are real ndns here!!! There are about 20 people in NAHC and we're a very active club. We are trying to get the university to require proof of heritage but that doesn't mean that all the ndns here are wannabes....if we all were white, why would we lobby for proof of heritage?

Because Harvard doesn't require any proof of heritage and some white people have been lying about being Indian to get an edge on admissions, the real Natives here worry about the outside perception of our school. This issue has been in the news lately. That's why I don't want people to think that there aren't any enrolled Indians here and give Harvard a bad rep...

Also our head dancers and arena director are all current students or alumni :) I encourage you all to come out and support the students here! We thank you in advance.

see. I don't know why people do chit like that. It's just plain tacky. Good luck with the administration, but also remember that there are still a few tribes out there that aren't federally recognized for one reason or another, so it can be a sticky subject.
