NMAI pow wow info?

I know the dates for the National Museum of the American Indian pow wow in D.C. are August 13-14 and that it's being held downtown at the MCI Center. Have they released any other info on this dance?

The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian "National Powwow" will take place August 12-14, 2005.

The theme for this year's National Powwow is "The Origins of the Powwow." Historical origins of the Pauwau, dances and songs will be shared through text, artifacts and possibly lectures/presentations.

All the head staff has confirmed except for one group. This is the reason for the delay in publicity.

In addition, some details of contest category structure still need to be worked out.

Some additional possibilities that are being discussed to suppliment the powwow:

1. LIVE radio and webcast during the powwow
2. Shuttles to the NMAI Museum
3. Reception room for powwows.com members
4. Additional contest "specials"

oh wow i wanna go!
we're planning a trip next month to go to the museum buuut i just heard about the powwow this w/e.
we'll see....
