Battle River was a no show. I wasn't suprised considering the circumstance their tribe is in. It was fairly small, but the big talk around campus were those Wildcats in the elite eight. Glad I'm here to witness some March Madness.

I honestly don't remember who else, I wasn't paying much attention to the mens' conests, I know that Lydell Yazzie got 2nd in Men's fancy and I know who got 1st and 3rd but I couldn't spell their names, so I didn't post them.

There were 12 drums in all, 5 SOUTHERN drums...Is that a record for AZ? The Southern drums were Panther Creek, Southern Slam, The Action, Pumpkin Vine and Zotigh. The norhtern drums were Blu Thunder, Red nation, Old Man Eagle, Callin Eagle...can't remember who else. Blu Thunder did the fill in for Battle River. They were ok, but who could fill the shoes of Battle River?
In the singing contest, The Action won...a pick up drum with the Tso family; Ron, Wes and JaRon plus three other guys-Cliff, Simon and Lydell. I think red nation got 2nd and Old man eagle 3rd.
There was a straight dance special and the winners were 3-Ryan Rumley, 2-Tom Jackson, 1-Shude Victors

Anyone else have news???? Oh yeah, It was FREEZING both days and the only food available on the premises was Fry Bread!!! Vendors had the same old stuff and if anyone bought pow wow shirts at full price on Friday...they went all the way down to $2 on Saturday night.
Techno did an awesome job on the sound.
