??/ There is nothing posted here - I heard this pow-wow was happening this weekend, but know nothing more than the gossip mill that I caught in line at the bank.....what's the dealio....??? If it is indeed happening this weekend, same weekend as Lumbee, have fun whoever goes and be careful....:)

Hey Ace! I didn't see little man, to give him a kiss for ya. Powwow was ok I guess the best that can be expected, I guess, again!
Hey I have a question for all those powwow.comers. This weekend there was a gentleman who was from OK, and his wife at this powwow, great people, well towards the end of the powwow, he and his wife went out to the dance arena, and dance to a song a group was singing, well the song moved him and the man proceeded to pull out a eagle whistle and proceed to the arbor, to honor the drum singing, well he asked the MC if he could get through, the MC turned towards the drum singing, and turned back to the man and said I can't do that, and would not let the man honor. The drum sang another round seeing what went on while they were singing anyways, out of respect for the gentleman that was trying to blow his whistle. Well the MC obviously seen me give him a nasty look and cut my eyes when he did this, cuz b4 the song was even over, he grabbed his stuff and dipped, didn't even stay around for the host drum to do their closing song. Was I in the wrong, and the other drum also, for getting mad over this?

Nothing surprises me in the southeast. Everyone thinks they know everything, and they know the ONLY way. If it's the same MC I'm thinking of, he needs to be kicked. I got into it with him before too. :)

First of all, who was the MC? Evidently, he didn't know what the heck he was doing. If the gentleman was given the right to carry that whistle, then his request should have been honored.

Maybe you should mention something to the committee if you know any of them. They really need to get a new MC. I know a lot of people that will not attend anything where he is the MC. I'm one of them. I don't care how many times I've been to a powwow, if I see he's on the head staff, we just stay at home.

But to get back to the topic at hand, I agree with you a whole 100%. I am not going to lie I am really tired of that particular MC, but I am still going to this PW this weekend. I have got to get away from these kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!
