Nov powwow in Jacksonville,

Not sure if this was covered already,
Is it true that blacklodge will be there? And its the same weekend as stone mountian??? oh say it not so..

Yes... Black Lodge WILL be there and I have no idea if it's the same weekend as Stone Mountain.

The powwow in Jacksonville is Nov 5-7th.

That is the same weekend as Stone Mountain. But i do not know who will be singing at SM it does not even say on the website, http://www.stonemountainpark.com/new...sp?Event_ID=18

I stay her in Atlanta, but I think I will be at jacksonville. It is not often that Black Lodge comes down this way u know!

For this to be a first year powwow it seems to be on a LOT of people's calendars.

Dancer pre-registrations have come in from as far as Saksatchwan (sp?), Canada and that is really, really far from here. There have also been a number who are planning to come from North and South Dakota. And of course vendors are coming from all over the country as well.

A young soldier stationed in Kentucky contacted us yesterday because he heard Black Lodge was coming. He wanted to know if it was really true because he's being deployed the Saturday of the powwow and plans to come in all the way from Kentucky for just Friday night because he doesn't know if it's the only chance he might get to hear Black Lodge live. We contacted him and told him that yes, it's true, Black Lodge is coming to this powwow... and that considering his unique circumstances he and whoever he brings with him will be put on the "guest list" for that Friday night.

I'm just really praying that this powwow is a success so that we can have it again next year. I hope it will really bring people together from all over the place in a good way.

i know i am planning on going to this pow-wow. if not to dance just to take picture and watch.

If I did dance... and unfortunately I don't... I'd have to dance this one for sure.

I'm so excited, though... this will be my 16 month old baby's first time "dancing". I've FINALLY gotten his little grass outfit done. I thought I'd never finish-- I've been so busy with so many other things lately!

I'm gonna be one proud momma!

that is so cool that you guys are doing this for him. I know and understand how it can be, being in the military. I spent ten years in the navy and missed many of good pow wows. Well i just hope to enjoy myself on this one.

Well... it's the least we could do. It's for people like him who are serving now... and people like him who served before that this powwow is all about!

It just really touched my heart to know that hopefully we can provide a good time listening to some good drums and all that before he has to do his deployment. Maybe it'll give him a little something extra to take with him.
