Great Salt Water Powwow

I want to make sure everyone... EVERYONE has heard about this powwow. This is a first annual thing so that's why I'm making such a "big deal" out of it. LOL

It's going to be a really special event and will be highlighting a lot of important issues...

• We'll be having a BIG Educational Fair on Friday for nearly 2,000 school children (particularly non-Indian) about who WE are and what our history is (because the textbooks are kind of failing in that respect).
  
• Honoring our Veterans... The oldest living Codetalker will be there to be honored and there are a lot of special things going on for honoring our warriors-- past and present.
  
• Food Drive - If you're coming to this powwow... how about bringing at least one non-perishable food item wiht you to contribute to the food drive we're coordinating with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
  
• Warmth Drive - This one is to help out the folks at Pine Ridge (and if we have enough items donated and other areas of need are presented, we'll make sure to send some stuff to those places too!)

On top of everything else, we're going to have some great, great drums at this powwow (Including Black Lodge!!!) so you can be sure we'll be kicking off Indian Heritage month in style!
