Does anyone have info on santa ynez?

I just want to know who head staff and host drums are. Is it a casino pw? The only info I got was from ocbtracker.com. Would it be better to camp or get a room? I'm debating on weather I should go or not. I do want to get out of this AZ heat for a bit.

6 or 7 hrs is not bad at all. Not if you have other drivers to help you out. I also have a cousin in san bernadino, so i'll reloadup and rest up. I will do a little recording. If you're really hyped up to go somewhere, time goes by fast, as long as you have some jams to blast. I told my brother if rage against the machine all of a sudden wants to regroup and do a free show @ the republican convention @ the end of the month, we are going. They did a show @ the DNC back in 2000 right before they broke up. But that's a very slim chance of happening. Schemitzun is right before the convention. *crosses fingers*

We're going. Leaving early in the morning, good thing I live in cali. Went last year, we won the drum contest there. Sound system is not the best in the world but it's also not the worst. I camped last year, and it looks like I'll be camping again this year. I checked expedia, orbitz and hotwire and there is no rooms available anywhere. The nearest one is about 25 miles away and its 235 a night. So good luck in finding a place to stay! Or just camp out and maybe I'll run into you guys there at the powwow.....

Returned from Santa Ynez

Got back last night about midnight. Anyway, the powwow was fun! Rocky Park took first Northern/Southern drum contest. They sounded awesome. I don't have all the results, because we had to leave right away to avoid traffic. Boy, the traffic through Santa Barbara was no joke. We dosed up on Red Bull and made it back. The powwow altogether was pretty comfortable. It was in the trees so it wasn't too hot and everyone there was so inviting. I wouldn't mind putting this powwow on our trip next year. Southern Comfort took second and Green River took third. That's all I know for the drum contest.

I didn't check out much @ this pw. We camped out. I spent alot of time @ the camp. My brother recorded a little bit. We went to the casino on sun. When we left, the police had that road blocked off because of that fire. My brother went thru the barracade that they set up. We really thought they would follow us, but they didn't. That gave us a really big adrenaline rush. But sir, our camp is over there.

Roy track blows away that mc that they had @ gallup. This whole trip blows away that gallup trip. We met a couple of cool arse dancers. The casino hooked the pow wow up. The feed was great. Even the taco was better. At gallup, my brother got a taco w/ the beans still uncooked. That totally sucks. The people seem more laid back.

The showers had an open roof. There were helicopters flying over as well. They probably didn't know which ones were which. Everyone had long hair. The only thing that sucked was there were alot of little tiny stickers in the ground. I got stuck a few times.

I got a new order for moccs as well. The guy lives in hollyweird and he got us a room there. We feasted @ pioneer chicken on sunset blvd. For those who are under 25, you probably have no clue. If you do, you either live in LA, was served it as an infant or you are a chicken expert. We walked close to a mile back to our room after visiting at night. I told my brother that that was a good time to pack some heat. I had the videocamera in my brothers backpack. Someone could have had a field day with us.

That traffic in santa barbara and ventura was no joke. It took us 2 hrs. to drive 20-30 miles. That was the only traffic we ran into. We blasted queens of the stone age after beaumont. I would suggest the rated r album for anyone who doesn't know yet. Most of the people in that group are from from indio and palm desert. It's kind of like listening to clearance clearwater in the bayou. I've never been that way, but if I did, I would listen to that.

I don't know which pw is next, probably barona or sycuan. I need to start working on a couple of mocs. Laters.

The pw was pretty good... very HOT! Not only did they have stickers... but they hurt bigtime!

...gotta love them california fires to add detours to existing traffic ;)

Porterville pow wow is September 24-26. Its sad, the pow wow is posted places letting people know about the dates, but they didnt post anything else like host drums etc. Its gonna be awesome though! Its gonna be hot too... but worth it.
