I called over there earlier today.. and I was told the payouts were as follows:
for the ADULT dance contest *COMBINED* 200.00 150.00 100.00 75.00 I don't know the payout for the younger people. I also asked about drum pay outs and I was told: "We have not decided the payouts for the drum contest. We have to see how much money is collected at the door as well as through raffles." I don't know if I'm going to go.. whose all going? |

Last year, there was a flash flood! And the crossing was closed temporarily between the powwow arena and the motel. This means that if the bridge is washed out, then you're stuck if you're on the other side! I had a room on the bottom floor and I had to keep it ... it seems that the water run-off just seeps into the rooms once the parking lot is flooded and the ground is saturated. Better make sure you get rooms upstairs. And the train runs no more than 25 feet from the motel rooms! So in the midde of the night, you feel the shake and rattle along with the train whistles. Anyone going "out there" is a brave person. |
