This is a good pow wow, we go every year, winter and summer. My husband is singing with P.I. but we go even if he isn't. LOL
Age group splits and good drums. Alot of dancing and alot of specials make this pow wow alot of fun to attend. The casino is right there next to the grounds and if you camp, the weather is not too bad. The people of P.I. are very hospitable and treat visitors really well.
Southern categories in all age groups too, so that is a plus for southern people because we don't have to dance in combined categories but separate like we do at home. There are specials in juniors this year, but they usually pay juniors day money and that is very nice for the kids. They pay them well too.

I like this pow wow, especially the split in age groups, categories and the $$$. Gives everyone a fighting chance to place. This pow wow is better than Schemitzun, especially in the $$ split, not a big drop from first to second. I like that in pow wows. It gets kinda hot during the summer pow wow though. Gotta get there early to find a shade tree to put your chairs under. And if your lucky, your car. Too bad I couldn't get booked at the hotel, but then again, there's too much drama going on in the hallways and rooms after the pow wow. Gotta get our beauty sleep. LOL! Hats off to the pow wow committee. I think they've considered all the different dance categories, styles and age groups. They have a good head staff this year. And the invited drums are pretty good.
