SmokeD20: This weekend the 32nd annual Oneida Powwow will take place. I have been to that powwow about 4 or 5 years ago as one of the invited drums. It was held at the Norbort Hill memorial field. I do remember them doing the smoke dance but I can't remember if it was for exhibition or competition. But in answer to your question, Yes, "they got smoke dance there! In we-scone-sin!"

Smoke Dance
Yeah, they had the Smoke Dance exhibition and contest there this year. It wasn't as impressive as last year's, but they did have the exhibition every session which invited everybody to dance. I think the better smoke dancers might be found up in New York or further north in Ontario. They just seem to be more into it there. I wish more WI Oneidas did it!
