Powwow in Camp Verde, AZ

:czyeyes: What's the word on that Verde Valley powwow... who's coming? out of 5 stars... how many do you give it? :34: Does anyone have the scoop on staff? drums?

i just know its gonnnaa be flippen hot to have it outdoors!!! we quit going cuz its sooooo dang hot..and i dont wanna torcher my kids out there in that heat!! LOL

It'll be the same old head staff with local head man, head lady, AND no designated Host Drums (selected daily). It'll be hot for sure. I know I won't be there.

Heck NO! I'm not going.....not after the shyt we went thru last year...LOL...anyway, I would have gone if Techno was doing the sound again, but since he's not I'm not going,...so there!!! LOL

Just look at last years flyer.. still the same..
I don't mind the AD.. but he get's annoying for example speaking over the hand drum contest while they are singing! That just bothers me.
PLUS.. it's hot out there..

Yeah yeah sure sure. One thing I've learned about Navajos is that they talk a lot of smack 'bout powwows, saying its all cheap and that they're never going back then when the powwow comes they're out there mumbbling and grunting 'bout how cheap it is all day long. Typical Navajo. See y'all at the powwow even tho' you're not going.

Well, they said they will have water for the dancers ... and have the contests in the evenings. I don't know about gourd dancing. All I know is that they are renting sound equipment elsewhere.

Heck no!!! I definately ain't going!!! I'm not your typical navajo...LOL......so follow me and lets go somewhere else...LOL....some of my guys prolly show up there, but not me...I'm waiting for the following weekend and just might go to Seafair and spend my hard earned money there.....LOL.....

this is a good powwow, i think. just my opinion. only exception is that this powwow needs another M.C. hate to say this, but its true. the guy is so blah and bland. this m.c. tries to be funny, but it doesnt work for him. i think this powwow needs someone like who is funny. thats my opinion. yeah, weather kinda sucks though, oh well at least it is a grass arena not pebbles, rocks or dirt or dust like bluebird flower.....aaaaayyyyyeeeee. damn.....i should be the m.c. for this powwow.....aaaaayyyyyyeeeeeeee. anywhore, until then latersssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Ohhhhhhhh yeah. A big red sandstone one, a De Chelly sandstone rock. Im going over, probably have a few laughs with friends and all and dance. Didn't mean to put anyone down its just that I hear that alot from OTHER Navajos--that particular bunch must travel to the same powwows I go to--call me a wad, or a foo' but thats my take on people who rag on powwows. You see I am a real powwow bum; i don't care if the MC sucks or the giveaways are a couple of hours long or the weather sucks, I enjoy the moment. Just think back in the day when things were simple and you took things as they were, raw and unscathed. You know. Seem like the creature comforts of today has soften us Native folks.
