There will be a s.straight contest. There are three invited drums for northern and three invited drums for southern in addition to the host drums. Also, there is a hand drum as well as a 49 singing contest. Any other specials are not yet confirmed.

I wanted to come to this one for years and the first time I can go, buckskin and cloth are combined. There is a pow wow in Oklahoma, at Thunderbird Casino(norman, OK) that has 750 for first and a jingle and a straight dance special ($500 each). The dates are the 3rd and 4th.
Also, the Pete Moore, Sr., memorial special at Pawnee that saturday night, no registration necessary, is $1000, 700 and I believe 500 and 300. The family were handing out flyers at Red Earth this past weekend. So, I am sure this will be a good special...it is old style traditional special.
So, there is alot going on in OK and then the one in Quapaw, that is usually 500, 300 and 200 and then they have that big women's fancy bustle special too.
So, probably stay home this time, maybe next year. I hear it is beautiful out there. It can't be hotter than OK in July, LOL
