Here We Go... Red Earth vs Alabama Coushatta
Whose goin where? A-C has proven to be a good down home powwow with some respectable dancers and singers and prize money. Red Earth on the other hand has big names and big money. Are any of you okies still gonna come down to A-C? I just wanted to hear everyone's point of view.

Because I'm Alabama-Coushatta, I'd be biased. However, I'll say this again: there's only 2 grand entries total all weekend, $5 registration fee, free food for dancers/singers & family, and pow-wow is conducted in the evening. There's a Men's Fancy special, but I don't know all the information. There's also a Men's Grass Dance & Tiny Tots special.

It's not a contest or a race. LOL Both pow wows will be good, it just depends on where you live and which one you want to attend. Red Earth is close for me, and they have all the categories separate for my kids and me. We always go to Livingston, but the weekends coincide this year, so we choose to stay home. But I know alot of Okies heading down that way for the pow wow. So, it will be good...either way.

Have been to AC once. Had a nice time but we will go to Red Earth -- may cost more to get in but with the price of gas and trying to find a room makes sense to stay closer to home. The age split is also a draw this year. Maybe Texas next year.

I think the concert at Red Earth might be worth going to. At first I thought it would be boring because they weren't dancing at night. But the concert is starting to sound like an idea worth checking out.
