you know that when NAVAJOJOHN MADE HIS STATEMENT I THINK HE WAS NOT TRYING TO PUT DOWN YOU NAVAJOS, FOR ONE HE PROLLY HAS THE FIRST NAME JOHN SO IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REFERRIN TO THE NAVAJO TERM. AND ONE THING IS HE MAY NOT BE NAVAJO AND JUST USED THE NAME TO SEE WHICH EDUCATED NAVAJO WOULD FIGURE IT OUT.
FOR ONE THE ONLY REASON NAVAJOS DONT COME OUT TO OKLAHOMA AS MUCH IS CAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THE GUTS. JUST LIKE THE OKIES THAT POWWOW AND LIVE IN OTHER STATES, THEY HAVE BEEN TEACHING OTHER WISE. JUST LIKE THAT ONE OLE MAN EUGENE BLACK BEAR TEACHES ON THE NAVAJO REZ YOU TALK BOUT GREED AND IT IS BIG WITH THE NAVAJOS THAT IS WHY THEY ARE JUST OUT FOR THE CONTEST DANCES. YOU KNOW WHEN WE HERE IN OKLAHOMA HOST A BENEFIT WE STILL HAVE CROWD OF BIG TIME CHAMPION DANCERS, THEY ARE NOT JUST BOUT THE MONEY BUT ONTHE REZ YOU SAY BENEFIT NO ONE COMES CAUSE YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GO AND DANCE AND SING. HERE IN OKLAHOMA YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ALL THAT. |

sixty9 - chk out his tribe.. it says navajo... talk about being educated?! learn to read.
as for not going to oklahoma cuz navajos are scared *LOL* thats plain silly. Back when I had a title I went out there a bunch of time. My favorite was pawnee homecoming and I dressed my tribal dress and contested. I had fun. Nothin out there scared me. And I wouldnt be trying to defend someone I knew nothing about. Let him talk for himself... it doesnt make you look all that smart or humble.

ha ha
well you are all a bunch of dumb azzes to go to a powwow in the southwest. they have the biggest rate of bogus powwows than any other place in indian country. there is pretty much nuthin that could be done about it so jus move on. and to those who say that powwows are supposed to be bout the religious stuff, f-u because it takes a lot to make our regaila, to travell, and be good enuf to keep the tridishions alive. if we all worked then there would be no good dancers, jus cheesy ones. so we shouldnt put career dancers down and we shouldnt blame them for wantin their winnings. a powwow should always pay their head staff b4 anything. us dancers gamble when we go. yet if we win then we should get our earnings. or jus stay out the soouthwest like me. lol

Tons of pow wows north and south and east and west...overlook the payout, the planning, the potties --> the people. And, we know the better of them--> exceed the expectation...the food hits the spot, the drums and songs are on queue, the dancers and their angels uplift the people, the potties have t-p, and everywhere you look: smilies!
Whoever you are Angelo, right-on about choosing to dance...you may not hang in a high-rise or on wallstreet...from what I've seen, the competition is just as fierce. It's all about heart. Some planners/nations lose it along the planning trail...money managers: get real! there are tons of ways to invest and let your percentages increase one year (even two) PRIOR to your event! Head staff, drums, far-away visitors: get it in writing, keep copies and present at time of arrival. We gotta check the committees, this could become another Dept. of Interior investigation and our winnings may start to become taxed largely...if planners don't get their @#*! together. --see you on the field...peace out! |
