RED EARTH?! K I know theres already a red earth thread but I didn't really see anyone saying if they were going or not. So who all plans on going? And does anyone wanna be my official hair braider for the weekend?

I think Paul is going to be running a live internet broadcast Friday, at Red Earth. Indigenous is supposed to be headlining Friday nights activities. It would be nice if the pws.com people could meet somewhere. Don't you think?

I am going and my kids(I have 4) We will all be competing. Heard that 18 and under won't have to pay. It sounds like the dancing won't be marathon dancing, so that is good for old people like me who have bad knees. LOL Alot of our friends from up north are coming down, the age group split is good. Also a men's fancy special on Saturday night and the cloth special on Sunday. Sounds good, probably and hopefully better than it has been in about 10 years.

Yeah I'm pretty excited for this one...never been so its always fun to check out a new powwow. Does anyone know what the gas prices are like down that way? Cuz right now they are at $2.05 around here...just wondering if I should expect the same down there!

Heya,

AAA has posted that gas prices in the OK City metro area are about $1.93 right now. The official summer travelling season is said to begin this coming Monday. Gas prices are again predicted to rise.

I just saw a little Indian kid drive to the gas station on his bike to fill up a plastic gas can. Is this what life is coming to?

I remember Red Earth used to be the bomb... Just another reason to Fourty Nine now. I suggest heya that you check out tru loves and the fourtynine in norman so you can get the real feel of Red Earth......

I will be sitting there too.....but we will be dancing to Midnite Express, Mesquakie Nation, Battle River, White Tail, Yellow Hammer and Southern Boys. So, we can tape anyways.....
And yes, true loves, Slick Willies and the 49 and Norman are pretty much the "have to be there" sites of Red Earth...especially with those drums being around...ha ha
