Friday, July 30th, 2004. I didn't get to the pow-wow till 9 pm indian time. There are 6 drums I think, probably more today. Ray Thunderchild is the MC. "Chocolate" is the whip man. LOL. Duane Howard, I mean. APTN is going to be filming a reality show there today called "Indians Gone Wild", jk. I don't know the name. People have to sign a form if they don't want to be shown on TV. Maybe I'll try to be a ham and get on TV. Cisco what r u going to be wearing? I saw some nice men traditional I've never seen b4. Ok. Toodles.

Congratulations to the Squamish Nation Pow-wow Committee. The pow-wow was great, as usual. Leon Crane Bear won men's traditional 1st place. Evelyn Lockhart or Locklear, (sorry, im duh) won the women's golden age. And that's all I remember. I forgot a pen. The fish was great. This year you got a LOT of salmon and macaroni salad for 7 bucks. The potato owl dance was fun to watch. Oh yeah. The show APTN was filming was for an episode for The Creative Native called "Cree Eye for the White Guy". So these 3 white guys had some tasks to perform like sell 50/50 tickets and then dance. Some elder gave an indian name (in jest) to one guy, "Crooked Feet". They danced and it was hilarious. The show should be on some time in October. The weather was great, hot. Lots of people got sunburn. There was a drum group from Hobbema there, eh. Blackfish or something. Lots of cute guys around. The last 50/50 draw was 500 bucks and a guy from Hobbema won it, like they need money. JK! My bad. Message to Bigfoot: Not so many fat jokes about John Miller. He can't help it, his dad is big. There was also a mens traditonal special for War Dance, Theresa Perry's husband. Aldon Pompana won that. The pow-wow ended about 8 and I wished there was more round dances at the end. I got to judge the junior category on Saturday. That was hard. I look for regalia, dance steps and stopping on time. Next time I'll bring a pen and paper and write more info down, (and men's emails, jk) so I can post a proper pow-wow report. I think I'll try to go to Squilax but I know for sure I'll be at Kwantlen Pow-Wow in Fort Langley, BC August 27, 28 and 29th, then hopefully if I can save up enough moulah to go back to Winnipeg for the long weekend. That's it, that's all.
