Retract question about Drummers, and Dancers

I'm sorry i posted a question about costs of drummers and dancers. I just want you all to know i take my postion serious. I am proud to be cherokee, i am proud to follow in my grandfathers foot steps as chief. I will one day walk the RED ROAD with my real brothers and sisters. I do want you all to know i am able to say im no mix breed. I am 100% cherokee. All i asked is for a little info. So if this is what these people that call there selfs American indians on here act toward a brother. You all can have it. I will not post on here again. Wado

Well , I'll say this....I am not a fullblood , I am a mixed breed as you so put it . I try to take things like this lightly , especially NDN humor.
First off you went about this wrong.....Very few(if any) self respecting tribal Chiefs would ever come on an open forum like this and announce their position....as if trying to impress someone !
Secondly , we on this forum are not stupid or for that matter easily fooled ! Our Federal Government only recognises 2 bands , or Tribes of Cherokee People , and those are the Eastern and Western Bands of The Great Cherokee Nation , neither of which are in Georgia !
So what the majority of NDNs see is another offshoot group claiming to be Cherokee , and not actually members of any Federally Recognised Tribe !
Why don't you tell it like it is.......???
Sorry if we hurt your little feelings , and if you want to leave , then do so ! But don't blame it on the good , knowledgeable people on here that might poke a little fun. If you are a fullblood as you claim , then are you a member of the Eastern or Western Band ? Hmmmmmm ?

First off, BUH is exactly what I said when I read this

Secondly, the federal government actually recognizes three Cherokee tribes:
1. Cherokee Nation (formerly known as the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma)
2. Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (located in NC)
3. United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians (located in Oklahoma)

Geez, don't get so defensive. Wasn't trying to get on you...it's just very common for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee to be overlooked. And no, they're not in Georgia.

I've heard tell that there is a state recognized band of Cherokee out of Georgia... none federal though.

I just gotta say........ even though I'm Cherokee..... I have never met a 100% Cherokee. I've met 100% natives that were Cherokee and something else like Cheyenne..... Ponca.... etc. but never 100% Cherokee. Guess I need to get out more.

Wow, the SAME government that everyone rips on is the same government that you guys base your 'indianess' proof on.

This is funny.

No one likes the government unless you have a chance of getting a casino out of it.

No one likes alcohol unless you make money out of selling it to the people in the casino that the government lets you have because THEY say that it is OK for you to be indian even though you can't get any feathers from them.

An interesting tidbit from the enrollment office of the EBCI: there have only been two full bloods (4/4 blood quantum) enrolled in the tribe in the last ten years. Now, that's not to say there haven't been 4/4 Indians enrolled, but only two with 4/4 EBCI blood.
