What kind of rattle is this?

I was wondering if someone could tell me what this is? Origin, specifically?

It rattles :)

Sometimes I just hold it, or lay with it on my chest.

Looks like coyote or rabbit skin wrapped around a hided stick. Not sure where the rattle is but looks more like a drum stick of some kind. Almost look aboriginal from the Aussies.
