There are alot of hair products that may help ya.

personally I use a leave in conditioner in my girls hair comb it thru and then put in sum Paul Mitchel serum, smooths and conditons unruly hair.. hehe...then tightly braid it all back then when all finsihed.. use a light hair spray to hold it all in place...
Be careful of the products you do use tho sum can really cause a build up in your hair... and make your scalp itch

I agree with Angelfeather; most of all start off with a clean head of hair.

For me, I recently got into using Organic Everything Here is a site where you can get all kinds of stuff:

www.eatit.ca

I use the handsoap for my hair (BTW since being colored, it had major knots in it) but now that I use that, NONE at all, it really shocked me the first time I tried it! I was like WTF?;)

You can also use that soap do wash dishes and do laundry. It's very low foam, and great for people that have allergies etc. Can't say enough about that company, great stuff and the prices are sometimes better then what can be found in the store

Here is a sight that I've gone to for tips on how to take care of mine. It is kind of fanatical, but it does have some good advice about taking care of long hair.
