I stopped wearing my crowns after my 3 terms as princess were up. and I too think some of these older ladies wearing crowns look silly, too. Unless they were elected powwow queen or something they just shouldn't do it.

Well historicly there were no royalty in any Native Tribes, so if you were a decendant from a cheif that wouldnt matter, at least I would think. My family is a direct decendant from the Last war chief of the Winnebago/Ho-chunk Nation but that doesnt entitle me or my girls to wear crowns because thats
something Natives took from the white world, Princess is not a traditional form to practice. At least from what I am told.
So I guess if someone is feeling really caucasion then I guess they could use that excuse to wear crowns...... That is only my opinion of course..... but since my girls understand that crowns are not traditional I think we will be alright.....

We know where our family came from and will continue to practice our traditions the best we can providing we have to incorporate our current practices into our traditional ways.
