i have been to both types of powwows and like both of them, a powwow is a powwow to me, i learn different things from them. REZ powwows are more traditional and laid back, i learn about patience, traditions, songs, family, values, etc. going to a city/casino powwow is where i learn about different tribal customs, contemporary styles, whats new on the circuit, etc. either way i still see old frends and family

I like all kindz of pow-wows.....as long as they're goot pow-wows. Rez pow-wows are my faves!

I like the rez powwows that are close to the city, like Ft. McDowell, and Red Mountain. Cause its convenient for dinner break, and the shopping. But i guess all powwows are fun either way. But i like the small rez powwows too. Grr....I LOVE ALL POWWOWS!

I like rez powwows because they're sort of mini vacations for us. We book rooms at casino resorts months in advance and truly enjoy ourselves.

City powwows are cool too because you get to see everybody on a regular basis and get good practice in.

Ceremonials, like our Inlonshka etc. are not Powwows. We don't have the drunkfest nor 49s (that I know of) during the dances.

Some city powwows can be rank. I know of one powwow that isn't put on anymore because of stupid people fighting with bats and guns during the powwow. Also, kids like to wreck vehicles at these kind of powwows, too. I heard of kids slashing tires and putting sugar in gas tanks. That's why I like going to rez powwows. I try to avoid city powwows as much as possible.

If you've been to the cali powwows you'll know that city and rez are almost hand in hand. I've seen the powwows grow from mini to these huge deals since the casinos struck it big. But as a seller the larger casino powwows for me bring in more monie well tend to. But then the city powwows or those within city boundarys draw big crowds to. As for ceremonials which are some of the traditional gatherings we still have and pass on to our children and grandchildren those will always hold over any powwow.

LMAO!..I've heard of even worse stuff happenin @ rez Pw's. So no REAL diff as far as i'm concerned.
