hand shake
I don't know about a hand shake being disrespectful or not but I have been taught that if you have a bad feeling from the person not to touch them because it may transfer to you. I'm glad that I have learned that to most the handshake is a show of respect and as that will have to shake hands when I meet new people.

I'm all for it, I was somewhat brought up to take it as a sign of respect in meeting someone new. As someone else said on here about the bad feelings from other people, I just smile *nod* and say Hello. I almost always shake hands tho:D
P.S I don't like those flimsy lil hand shakes, where someone just touches your finger tips and kinda gives them a tiny shake..LOL what the heck is that :Tongue
