I choice it because

Why are what made you decide to dance the style you do? I did because my cousin helped me understand alot of the style. My dad danced some but mainly before I could walk then he gave it up. What's your reason?

Because, honestly, it was the most comfortable one to do. Being more relaxed, I felt I could show greater respect and honor to those that danced before me.

i was always drawn to jingle dancing. and i finally took it up once one of my elders told me i could after i worked with them, and came to understand the responsibility of it. :)

i do a couple of styles, women's nothern tradition and eastern blanket. i like the traditional because i am comfortable. i like the eastern blanket because i get to tell the phases of a woman's life.

I've always danced in the southern cloth categories. I danced fancy shawl at one point, but felt rather more comfortable dancing southern because I'm from the south.

Yes, you have seen me wearing various regalia. Some do not agree, but to each his own. I had decided to dance Northern Tradtional for several reasons: 1) Because I had been "told" that I should dance this before all others, and 2) I just love being able to get the fringe going:D There aint NOTHING else on earth like it:) Can't explain it, but I feel "at home" when I dance that style;)

Being the proud Ojibway....I dance Jingle. Not only that, but I have always been drawn to that style and saw myself in a dream dancing jingle.

choosing what you dance

I danced jingle when i was about 5 in my lil yellow poka dot jingle dress that my 3 year old cousin wears today and then i switched to fancy when i was 6 than i had to choose fancy or jingle! I chose jingle i had dreamt that i had a jingle dress!! :)

Because Granny B. said I must traditional dance when I was very young. I suppose because I'm her oldest grand-daughter.

Talking Wellll, let me see.....

I just started dancing in October, 2003, last year. The women's traditional. The powwow trail I travel hasn't distinguished between buckskin & cloth. Mine is buckskin but not in the same style as I've seen other traditional regalia.

I started to dance for myself but once I started working on my regalia with my Aunt I soon realized it isn't just about me. I enjoy it and I'm still learning about it.

I've seen people start out doing one thing and then end up doing another. Grass dancers becoming fancy dancers, etc. When I first started dancing, I went with what my personality was more like. I thought about grass but the songs were too slow for me. So I did fancy. But now, since my knees are acting up. Sometimes I'd rather just dance Crow Style. I like the feeling.

Then I want my son to dance fancy, he's been just about everyt
