I've seen the ones in Stroud. They're really good, and yet funny. I like watching the men more because they have creative stuff like making crowns out of foil or Pesi (Dr. pepper, coke) boxes. They even cut out replicas of fans out of pizza boxes and stuff like that. Then to watch them dance like women is funny. It's a stress reliever.....just kick back and watch. It takes your mind off of other things.

I was head dancer there one year.

LIHA is a TRUE switch dance.....

When the white people get there they switch from their white man cloths into their Indian cloths.

When the Indians leave the powwow, they switch from their Indian cloths into their white man cloths!

i havent been able 2 participate in a switch dance in a LONG time ha ha.... but it would be fun 2 do it again....

I think the guys have more fun with it... and it kind of makes me wonder if by the time they're done with it .... it's turned into a type of contrary/clown dance... still amusing and entertaining....

the one at the Rosebud powwow and casino this year was HILARIOUS!!!

~~ and i do have to agree that the women take it more serious~~ but it's still all in good fun :D

I found this video of women doing a men's smoke dance. The woman at the very end has just the right amount of attitude. There was some pretty righteous dancing, too!
