Cool How Many Sponsors did you have? How many committee members was there to begin with?

The GON pow-wow is such a success that many people are in awe- such as I am, and although I have never been there, one day my family and I will attend!!! One problem though, my dad said that when you sit at the bottom the food/beverage depts. are way at the top!!! That's a switch!!! Why? I guess it's as far away from the dancers as possible.

I will never have the money to travel across the country for the Gathering of Nations. Is there a chance one could also be done on the East?

I'll answer one of those for you. The setup for food is just because of the way the arena is built. You enter at the top of the stairs and the basketball floor is down in a hole - thus the reason they call it The Pit.

Congratualtions on a very successful run these past years. Keep up the good work.

Question: What can be done to control the food prices that the vendors charge? Is it because they have to pay the GON committee or UNM?
Who sets the prices?

Question

What do you credit for making Gathering such a successful powwow? Also, are there any changes or additions in the future for Gathering of Nations?

Question Vendor spaces

my relative who doesnt have internet access wanted me to post this question. this is her question, not mines.

1. why the ever increasing Vendor booth space fee? why?
2. why no t-shirt people? friendly competition wouldnt be something to be scared of.

back in 2002 the spaces were below $400 a space. now its seems to be going up every year.

online registration

Hey Derek! My family and I will hopefully make GON this year for the first time. I wanted to book tickets online but see that you all have reserved weekend passes for registered dancers. Is there any way to offer online registration for dancers as well? I have an idea why it may not work (last minute cancellations and other no-shows), but still wonder if there was a way to secure passes for dancers prior to arriving at UNM.

Now that we've moved to Texas, I don't want to miss an easier opportunity to be there since we'll certainly miss seeing you guys at UCLA and Pechanga this year!

A few years back in 2002, GON was broadcast by a local (NM) television station. It was then posted on the website. Any chance of this happening in the future?

(Paul: your video is much better quality, but for some reason you never get the ENTIRE powwow... Harddisk/transfer limitations? )
