Buzzard Winds

Buzzard Winds

Nentego people

touched by the bear,
kept by the turtle,
a stone withstands
the river that flows on.

buzzard fly cries songs
of elders past that know
the leaves that fall to grace
our footsteps on the earth that weeps.

In the end the wind speaks
and stone surrounds your feet
as the light of others walks with you
and takes you to the grandfather gate

far away and near, too near, all the same.

so says the bear, the man
his name is Wyawaqacumen,
and he walks everywhere

and nowhere at all.

Roots have spread out from the Tree . . . and the name of these Roots is the Great White Roots of Peace. If any man or any nation outside the Five Nations shall show a desire to obey the laws of the Great Peace . . . they may trace the Roots to their source . . . and they shall be welcomed to take shelter beneath the Tree. . . .

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass..It's about learning to dance in
the rain.
