As I look through my Native American Eyes

We are a simple people

Strong & Wise

We treasure the Brother earth

as our friend

And the medicine wheel's circle

has no end

I see land that was taken

not gave

From my sisters & brothers

We are the people of the home of the brave

We've been ridiculed & missunderstood

Not loved & treasured as we should

The Great Spirit gives us life

And provides through all our happiness and strife

We have tradition's strong & true

Doing what we are to always do

I see our culture fading away

like the sun at the ending of the day

So many stories are gone & lost

And our existance was the cost

The white man came & took everything

And with them great sadness

they bring

But we are not defeated no you see

For we still have our humanity

We will live & rise again

And live together as

Brothers & Sisters & Friends

We are the dreamers & keepers of this land

We are sent down from the

Great Spirits hand

We are the first & the last true

We are the greatest people of the

Red , White & Blue

So on this circle we walk the red road of life

And we'll keep lighting the fires so bright

So what through my eyes do I see
