wandering the mountains of my soul
i take on each with great care
wondering whats ahead
i push further
pondering what song to sing
what prayer to speak
to make this journey easier
i dont know what to expect
as i ascend to the top
i am afraid of what i will see
on the other side

the journey thus far
has not been easy
lazyness, hunger, thirst, greed, ignorance
have crossed my path
a song to sing
a prayer to speak
i have finally gotten to the top
of one
and found

the sacredness and truth
of my mountains
are to be explored
the lakes of my mountains
were meant to be swam in
to purify the soul if disturbed
the plants of my mountains
sing the song of my heart
the birds of my mountains
are my voice
the animals of my mountains
determine my emotions seen
the sacredness of these beings
define me

i tread on
on the journey of life
wanting to explore
every mountain of my soul
until the next mountain
i wait for the one
to share the journey with
to explore the mountains of my soul
