Osiyo everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of any online stores to order Turkey Wing Spikes in bulk. I tried Crazy Crow but they no longer do bulk shipments of the spikes.
I need these spikes b/c I am looking to make a new bustle with black turkey spikes and I can't find any. Please help me if you can. If you do know any links please tell me asap. Megwetch!

Feathers
On line search or I have made a couple bustles from feathers found on Ebay. NocBay or Matoska trading company can also be sources. I have had luck also with local hunters, I found some great red bourbon from a hunter.
Good luck my friend. Baamaapii |

Black turkey spikes only look nice when used for fancy dance bustles in my opinion. Any kind of turkey feather doesn't really work up nicely into men's traditional bustles. But, that's just my personal opinion.
I would agree with billyjoejimbob though...don't overextend your bustle and leave gaps in it...I've seen tons of these made like that when using hawk feathers and they look terrible.

I personally love the black turkey feathers as a bustle. I have one and i think it is most unique and looks great. To me it looks great in a way that i can use real feathers. As long as the coloring and the dowels arent long then i think it will make a nice bustle. Just make sure you take your time thats all. well Best of luck.

Megwetch to everyone who has helped me out so far! Please keep all the tips coming in. I really hope this does turn out as I vision it. I promise to take my time, add my heart, not space it to much, but not close them in to much, I dont plan on it being really big either b.c some spectators and young dancers do not understand how important bussles are. That is the reason I am in the bind I am in now. Spectators bumping kid ran into me once and mom slept to close and yeah :-[, but PLEASE keep the tips rolling! Once I get the feathers I got to learn all the proper fashions of making one.

hahaha! yeah billyjoejimbob, good tips!
those are all great places to look. you can also check out WanderingBull. Black Spanish Turkey feathers are pretty good ones to use instead of those awful dyed black ones--they rub off... i bought mine already made out of those spanish turkey feathers, but then completely re-did it later. u can check out the pic if u want on my profile pic. something i learned to make it more free-moving is not to use beads on the outer row between the feathers. just get some really long shoestring and tie each feather to the next one. it really makes a diff. in movement AND it helps a lot with storage! hope it turns out great for you!
