can you imbroder wolves on your tradish or grass regalia.
i know that in some tribes that the wolf is revered as
"the keeper of the circle" and i was wondering if it would ofiend anyone if i danced with wolves on my regalia

I'm glad you asked that questio because I have been wondering the same thing myself, except it's for my sister's fancy shawl regalia. She's wanting to but wolves on it and I'm not sure if I should do it or not.

this is the kind of question best asked within your Nation as it will definatly vary, the is no right or wrong for all ndn's on a question like this, only right or wrong for each person based on thier Nation. Out here wolves are very popular on regalia, but it may be a major no no somewhere else. So the long & short of it is that you need to ask within your nation or specify where your from so that the right person for you answers. As a general rule I always go to an elder in my community & sketch out the regalia design & get thier go ahead before I proceed.

Oh just to add to what I said before, living where I do if you wear a design with a clan animal then it tells people your from that clan, so when designing for someone without a clan, I stay away from designs with the clan animals from this area so as not to confus people & to respect the area
