Ive used the Solingen steel and the green river blanks. Both held a good edge. I made my brother one from Solingen with an elk antler handle and he used it to field dress a deer, including cutting the pelvis and sternum and it held up great. Then I went and bought him a bone saw and told him to lay off using that knife for such hard tasks, I didn't want to have to make him another. But I thought they performed great, I'd reccomend them.
