i don't think any nimipu would get mad, its the same song the nimipu sing!!!!!!! in fact NDN nation is one of the NW groups who sing it correctly and with much respect.
a few others from the NW sing it the right way too: yakamas~blacklodge,wild rose,eagle spirit,small town,toppenish creek. iron spirit from spokane rez coyote creek,north star from colville rez nez perce nation, lightning creek,redtail from NP rez can't forget the nix yaw ii "the Umatilla Studs", howtmi,umatilla intertribal,coyote creek. all of these groups have ties to the song,all have learned it from relatives who were great singers of their time!!!!!!!!! |
