I've used baby oil by putting some on my fingers and gently working it through the feather by starting at the quill and working towards the edges. Have also heard of using spray on hair conditioner but haven't used it.

I'll second the Baby oil. I use a cotton ball and flatten it out and go about oiling from the quil up too. If your dealing with white colored feathers be extra careful because if the oil gets all the way through the feather It'll leave a spot thats a tiny bit darker and it takes a long time for the oil spot to kinda dry up. Man I take baby oil to every pow-wow it's right next to my duct tape. I use it on my roach too and on all my horse hair it keeps everything shiney and the horse hair on my bustle and staff untangled. it helps get paint of your face too. I go over all my feathers with baby oil about three times a season. I've notised that it helps with a split in the feather as well, it goes together smoother that way. My elders told me these tricks and now there yours.
Keep on rallyen. |
