It doesn't really matter what you use. They definetly look better with eagle or hawk. Eagle feathers can only be obtained legally in the US from the eagle repository. If you're in canada, it's anotherr story. I like the look of golden eagle bustles more. But if it was a tail bustle definetly the black and whites.

1+2 it does matter in a way what feathers you use, the old style ohmaha ( named from the people who gave this style dance ) perfer to use balds on the round bustle..as was told to me. also ive heard contraversy on both sides from several elders on youngsters using whites bout the same goes for salt and peppers( immutures) kinda taboo...Goldens when used in what some call the oklahoma style are very powerfull too (lighting bars) and care is used on first flights.. birds of prey ,,,heron [B]never use owls[/b] i was at Comanche home coming at walters ok many years back and rhis guy came up where the grand entry was forming wearing an owl bustle...after several hundred people spit and kicked dirt on him he left so did i and half the dancers
