Roach Spreaders
So what kind of roach spreader do you use? What is the best looking one in your opinion? I'm making a fully beaded one with horse hair tassles in cones for the end. It's as long as the roach and the cups for the feathers are beaded too.

I finished beading the sockets for my spreader not long ago and now I'm working on doing a beaded strip to run the length of my roach.

Got to go with a fully beaded spreader all the way to the end of the base. You can never have too much bead work!!
For the sockets, try 35mm film canisters. They are the right size, easy to bead and work perfectly. |

Another idea for cups is shot gun shells. Knock the primers out and shorten then to the height you want.

Shotgun Shells are not made of metal. They are made of plastic. Unless you are talking about the base where the primer would be. In that case, i don't think it would affect it at all.

That's right only a small portion of a shot gun shell (the bottom 1/2" or so) is metal. The rest is a stiff heavy plastic. The nice thing is you can get different diameters, depending on which shell you use.

Don't make things like they use to!!! Especially guns like that old Sharp's. Now days so many things are disposable. Not many people take the time to reload anymore unless they are a serious shooter. You can reload what they call low brass shot gun shells once maybe twice and they are worthless after that. Plastic just can't hold up like the old metal shells. Most people today have never even seen the old metal shotgun shells.
