Leggings Question
Ok folks I would like to know what style of leggings woudl eb appropriate for a traditional dancer? I hate cold weather and want to make a pair of cloth leggings for winter powwows. I 've been given a nice blanket to make my next set of regalia from and want to begin preping for it by measuring out the blanket..

leggings
I am a shoshone of Idaho and a traditional dancer and have 2 sets of leggings and hardly wear the cloth ones anymore, because I made a pair of an old Hudson Bay blanket. The wool is cool in the summer and warm in the winter and if I need more coolness I just spray a little water on them, only drawback is they are very plain. The plain though was my intention, I like to stay very traditional without a lot of new style gimmicky wear...

Go buckskin....
Sounds like you already have cloth material but a set of buckskin leggings would be beautiful. I nice whire/brain tanned set with lots of fringe, tapered down to the ankle. black (use a sharpie) lines for detail. A bit of work but worth it.

I always though that the leggings you descibed were for members of a society? It going to be a while before I can start work on my next outfit. I'm now back in school trying to get another masters so I can find a job. I'm trying to cram 2+ years into 18 months. And most of my classes are saturday classes, no powwows for me for a little while. GJJudd |
