Bustle
How is everyone? It's been a while. I was wonderingsomething and figured I would ask here. Is it, in your opinion, bad if i decide to have someone else help with my bustle? I ask because my physical condition makes somethings, feather work and beading, more difficult for me. I know this because i have built a bustle but it was very hard for me. I really would like to make my own but I know my quality of work isn't great. If anyone out there has any advice or suggestions, please help me by giving me your advice. Thanx, Bob.

I don't see it's a problem in getting help with making your bustle, even if they do it all.

Heck I know people who buy bustles already made. Check out Ebay, there is a guy who sells them already made. Native Ventures is is ebay name. The way I see it, everyone has there strenghths and weaknesses. I can build a bustle, in fact I plan on making a new one for myself over the next few months, and will work on my son's if he wants to dance. Other items of reglaia is challenging but doable. But a porky roach, NO THANK YOU. I made one that looked like crap even with taking my time and doing it by the instructions. NOT EVER AGAIN, and I bough a nice roach off ebay. Moral is do what you can, get help as needed, and when in a bind buy it. Good Luck

GJJudd is more than right. When I was young and foolish (I should say more foolish than now) I told myself (and everyone else) that one day I would have a set of dance clothes that only I had worked on. Then I tried to do metalwork and well let's say I can be a machinist, but not a silverworker. I haven't tried the roach yet, but I have a bad feeling on that too!
I say kudos to you for having the heart to do what you can to dance. It means everything to some, but then again I have met some who don't even know their own heritage.
