Making a fan
Ok folks what's the best way to make a fan? I got a whole wing, should I just cover the end with leather or pluck feather and place it in a fan blank, or make a blank to go around the bottom of the wing and go from there? Thanks

Hey,
What I done was cut two pieces or cardboard(I suppose plywood would work too), and I placed it on either side and just sewed a piece of buckskin around it. thanks, Mike Silent Warrior

what i did was cut a fan handle out of oak the to a drimel typu tool and sanded a spot in the middle of the handle the shape of the wing. i drilled 2 holes , used a heavy duty wire and finally covered it with white buchskin. you can bead the buckskin first or if you want you can bead a rossette and sow it down. pretty easy really. hope this helps,
