Just a poll to see what people like. Do you prefer to dance with leggings or kneebands with shorts. I prefer leggings mostly because they offer coverage. Thanks for replying.

i have always loved the look of leggings. but i am in the process of building an outfit that has knee bands. just to see if i like it or not. esp for the summers.

Depends upon the weather. I kneebands in summer and leggings when it's cooler.

i guess it depends on the look you're going for. i personally wear leggings, because i like the way they look and kneebands don't work with my clothes. some folks look better with kneebands rather than leggings.

Actually I prefer the beaded knee bands with fringe over my stretch leggings. And occasionally I break out the deer skin leggings when it is cold outside. Sooo depending on the weather or whether the pow wow is inside or out.

in my 19 years of dancing i have perrferd leggings buti have danced with both and in the summer knee bands are better but they dont look well if you have chicken legs like me

I was born and raised in New Orleans, lived out of state for 3 years and returned to Gonzales for 2 years. Some LA powwows are hot as Hades, but I remember one LIHA powwow that I froze.

Well I'm From Ruston. La Tech University student. I was at the LIHA fall powwow in Robert and it was pretty cold and really wet. But it was a good powwow, some really good dancers were there. If you ever come back to the state to powwow a good one to attend is the Thundercloud Scholarship Powwow in Shreveport/Bossier. It was held for the first time this year in october and there were dancers from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, and some from up north. I agree with everyone else, it depends on the weather and what the rest of your outfit is. I think if you are going to wear kneebands with fringe you should have sidetabs. That is not necessarily the case if you are wearing leggings.

I would have to say, Kneebands in summer and Leggings in winter.

I think there are obvious advantages to either as discussed already (namely temperature), but it really depends on what kind of look you are going for. I have seen some beautifully done beaded kneebands with lots of fringe and ribbon that moved really nice on that dancer. If he had been wearing leggings instead, he would not have had the same flow.
