I just recieved new feathers for my new bustle. But i have never made one this will be my first to make from beging to finish. I want to make a swing bustle but don't know how can anyone give me some tips to how to make it? Also i am going to make a visor and epolets and need to know how to make those as well? Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks

Check out the archives, Lots of good info in there. The Evans book is a good start, but talk to dancers in your area. Make a list of things you want your bustle to be, i.e. easy to store, how large the extenders, etc. Then ask people.

I have that book its really. I pretty much know what the size of my bustle i want is and i kinda have an idea of what it going to look like i want it to be a swing buslte or a "u" shape instead of a flat buslte like i have had but every thing i tried with my old one just made it worse.

Well here's an up date on my bustle and everything. I have my visor made working on my epolets and i have the hores hair died the color i want. The feathers are arranged how i want them for the inner and outer rings of my bustle.

there are alot of ways to make shoulder wings and epalets....
more way than i can count...... but the way i do it is cut out two circle of leather, lay the feathers inbetween them and then opoxy them.... and then put some books on the leather until it dries....
