Round Dance.....

During the Winter months (I.E. right now!) Round Dancing is going on throughout the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. I'm sure Ontario as well and in the U.S. Good times are had at a Round dance! Different set up from a Powwow....Good singing! Just to name a few.....

Gordon McGilvary (sp?)
Randy & Terry Paskemin
"Lard"
Francis Greene
Jack Bull
Edmund Bull
Arnold Alexis
Irvin Waskewitch
Rod Hunter

Now you'll have to excuse me, but the names escape me...I can remember by a group they sing with...

Northern Cree
Young Spirit
Whitefish Jr's
Little Island Cree
Bear Creek
Tootoosis family
etc etc etc....

I'm sure i've left out a few....again excuse me...

rocky boy jus had their round dance a couple of weeks ago........it was a dang good round dance.

The Northern Cree RD 06 (Louie Bull gym) Hobbema AB was jamming!

Morley AB has some good ones too!

Coming up this Friday evening Sarcee AB...

Haven't hit a SK RD yet....I know they are good times though

I heard the Rocky Boy MT RD was good! (Moccasin Telegraph)

haven't ventured that far north during the winter...

But, some of my favs are still the Logan Alexis singers, the late Art Moosimin releases, the Bear Hills Singers album, Clayton Chief fo' sho'!
