Thumbs up Singers?

There are several groups out there in Powwow Country. In your humble opinion....what group carries itself in a good way?

I'd have to say Bear Creek. Without a doubt they are reliable and conduct themselves in a positive manner...

I agree. They're gentlemen.

I'm sure there are many, but I don't know them all. Just a couple that I know personally.

Eagle Flight are pretty good at staying away from the partying scene and are on time for their host jobs.

Any drum that sing pretty well combined with being straight up are good in my books.

Pipestone? Gotta give them props, too.

Hey, whadduya mean Coyot?

We're all frikkin' Angels!

Aye, when I partied, I partied with most of 'em at one time or another, so it's hard to say!

It's hard to find a group, other than the family drums, that don't like a lil' drink or smoke here or there....

Speakin' of family drums, I'd say Eya-Hey-Nakoda is pretty well mannered at powwows. (don't know what their like at home though! ay!) Blackstone, the older crew, don't remember all their names; High Noon; the list could go on. Alot of individual singers are very well mannered and disciplined in the ways of a spiritual person and what not.

Attended the Northern Cree RD

In Louie Bull last year...Must say I was impressed how the singers honored their youth.

All the groups named carry themselves in a positive way. Certainly most do....Not that i'm looking for a "contest" or anything...I'm just impressed by groups who encourage and provide younger singers with positive images. I think it's important. Not looking 4 brownie points or anything, but Sobriety was an essential part of my upbringing. Alcohol and just about everything else under the sun was readily available in my communities....I indulged at a younger age and by 17 I decided to leave it alone. I know of 4 men from our community who are sober.....Most of my experiences with alcohol have been negative....I respect adults who respect themselves but unfortunately in our communities we all have a rugged story to share....So I guess i'll conclude my sermon and I will continue to encourage our youth to make positive choices....
